Iran tested missiles. I remain convinced that sooner or later--most likely sooner--we will be in a shooting war with Iran. I take the Iranians at their word that they wish to destroy Israel and the United States. The mullahs in power in Iran believe that Paradise awaits even if they destroy their own country in the process.

There's a striking parallel to Germany in the 1930s, including those on the left who believe that appeasement will stop the problem. As Tolkien wrote, "It only takes one side to have a war."

Obama has moved his acceptance speech to Denver's Invesco Field. The networks supposedly are unhappy, and may cut some coverage (though I can't imagine the MSM cutting anything Obama says). The more interesting question is raised by these two commentaries: Will we see a Triumph of the Will type presentation? The Memo from Leni Riefenstahl is both humorous and possibly prescient. Tony Rezko, the Chicago political fundraiser with ties to Obama who is now awaiting the verdict of a federal jury in Chicago, faces more charges. This time it's fraud charges from Las Vegas. The Las Vegas Sun reported today that Rezko owes $250,000 to Caesar's Palace, $200,000 to Bally's, and $331,000 to Bellagio, and he sent NSF checks to the casinos. They asked that criminal charges be brought and an arrest warrant has been issued.

However, if Rezko is found guilty in Chicago of federal offenses it may be a long time before he'll be in reach of Nevada authorities.

There's only one problem--he didn't go to that "grass-roots" job until two years after college.

Sometimes when people tell you they're going to do something, you need to believe them. Iran has said (in the past) that they want to destroy the US and Israel. Ignore the headline of this article; instead, note the content. "A ranking International Atomic Energy Agency official called Tehran's possession of a drawing showing how to make part of an atomic warhead 'alarming' Thursday and said the onus is on Iran to prove it had not tried to develop nuclear arms, said diplomats attending a closed briefing."

I continue to expect we will have war with Iran soon, whether we want it or not.

Of course, this does bring up an issue. Suppose you receive $x from UB, and you look at your PT database, check and see that it roughly matches what you think based on superuser nionio. That superuser did just about everything possible to get noticed. Could there be another superuser at UB who wasn't so stupid?
